Canal Side Tree Management

Post date: 09-Dec-2014 08:37:47

We are just about to start the annual review of tree management inspections for the Grand Western Canal Country Park. A M Lane Ltd have been assisting the ranger service in managing the trees alongside the canal tow path and offside embankments for over 15 years. The canal stretches over 10 miles from Tiverton to near Holcombe Rogus and offers picturesque walks through the Devon countryside. Stretches of the towpath pass through the villages of Sampford Peverell and Halberton on the way as well as the visitor attraction at the Tiverton Basin end of the horse drawn barge. A M Lane use the Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA) methodology to inform the management recommendations.
